How To Go Stand-Up Paddleboarding

Summer is here, and there's no better time to learn a new watersport! Stand-up paddleboarding (or SUP for short) is a watersport where you stand on a board and use a paddle to propel yourself. It originated in the Hawaiian Islands. In Hawaiian, stand-up paddleboarding translates to “Ku Hoe He'e Nalu,” which means “to stand, to paddle, to surf a wave.”

5 Places To Fish From Shore

On a warm summer day, you stand on the shore of a lake and cast your fishing line. As the hook and bobber plunk into the water, you watch the tiny waves ripple outward in a perfect circle, eventually dissolving in the glassy water. You soak in the warm sun and gentle breeze, checking your line occasionally. A great blue heron floats by overhead, and a raft of mallards quack in chorus as they paddle out into the lake.

Eagle Lake and Bryant Lake Regional Trails Master Plan is Available for Public Comment

The Three Rivers Park District Board of Commissioners has approved the draft master plan for the Eagle Lake and Bryant Lake Regional Trails and authorized a 30-day public comment period for the plan.


Three Rivers Park District’s 2040 System Plan identifies a north-south regional trail search corridor between Elm Creek Park Reserve and the Carver County Regional Trail System that will connect Eagle Lake, French and Bryant Lake Regional Parks. This master plan focuses on the planned 17-mile trail section between Eagle Lake and Bryant Lake Regional Parks.
