Opportunity to comment on Mississippi Gateway underpass project

Three Rivers Park District proposes to construct an underpass along the Rush Creek Regional Trail at West River Road in the city of Brooklyn Park, MN. The project will include construction of the underpass, along with retaining walls, trail connection and a storm water outlet pipe. 

Three Rivers Parks Will Hold Scheduled Deer Hunts

Three Rivers Park District will conduct scheduled deer hunts this fall intended to keep deer herds in balance with available habitat.

Archery deer hunts will take place in a number of parks throughout the Park District. These parks will remain open and will allow access to paved and turf trails, dog off-leash areas, horse trails, golf courses and picnic areas during the hunt period. Most of the listed parks have had hunts in previous years. Elm Creek is the only new archery hunt for 2023.

Minnesota is a land of more than 10,000 lakes, streams and waterways. Being surrounded by these, it’s no wonder why we are a state that loves water. Whether we are using water as part of recreation, sports or working, or in our daily lives, we understand that water is a precious resource that must be cared for. But many people may not think much about who takes care of the water and how they do so.

Zoe Bakken-Heck is a water resource technician for Three Rivers, based out of the Facilities Operation Center at French Regional Park and traveling all around the park district to collect water samples and monitor water. Zoe enjoys playing ultimate frisbee (no, not disc golf), and doing most anything outside, including reading, biking and eating.
