Project Details

The new paved, 10-foot-wide, off-road multi-use trail will provide safe connections to community amenities and the regional trail network.

Detailed elements of the project include:

  • Construction of the Bassett Creek Regional Trail along the south side of Golden Valley Road (CSAH 66) between Regent Avenue and Theodore Wirth Parkway.
  • Construction of a local trail along the north side of Duluth Street (CSAH 66) from Douglas Drive (CSAH 102) to Lilac Drive and Toledo to Regent Avenues.
  • Intersection improvements where Noble Avenue and Hidden Lakes Parkway intersect with Golden Valley Road.

What to expect during the project:

  • Lane shifts along the road during construction.
  • A road closure and detour for westbound Duluth Street for a short duration. Timing of the detour will be posted on Three Rivers Park District’s website and on-site signage will be posted prior to the closure.
  • New driveway aprons will be constructed where the trails cross driveways.

This segment is the last part of the planned Bassett Creek Regional Trail to be constructed, and will provide a continuous off-street paved multi-use trail from French Regional Park in Plymouth, through New Hope, Crystal and Golden Valley and connecting to the Grand Rounds Trail at Theodore Wirth Parkway.

The project is a partnership involving Three Rivers Park District, City of Golden Valley, Hennepin County and the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
