Bassett Creek Regional Trail Project
When complete, the Bassett Creek Regional Trail will travel approximately 7 miles, from Clifton E. French Regional Park in Plymouth through New Hope, Crystal and Golden Valley and connecting to the Grand Rounds trail at Theodore Wirth Park. The trail is complete in Plymouth; design for the New Hope and Crystal segment will take place this summer with construction taking place in 2016 and 2017. Under the current schedule, the New Hope and Crystal segment will open to the public in the fall of 2017. The Golden Valley segment is currently anticipated to occur as part of a future road reconstruction project.
The trail route was finalized in the Bassett Creek Regional Trail Master Plan. The cities along the trail route provided resolutions of support for the master plan in 2011 and the Three Rivers Park District Board of Commissioners adopted the master plan on February 16, 2012. For more information about the trail, see the FAQ.
An open house was held in Crystal on April 30, 2015. View the informational materials. Read the public comments from the meeting.
