Fat Bike Rennet - January 21, 2017
New for 2017, fat bike enthusiasts have the unique opportunity to ride on the Nordic ski trails in Hyland Lake Park Reserve. The course circles the entire park and includes a steep boulder ridge that challenges riders to stay in their saddle and complete the gruesome ascent. Options include the Twin Six 13K afternoon race and Otso 39K night race.
Tires must be 3.7" or wider and will be checked if needed. Bikes must have lights for the 39K night race: Minimum 400 lumens for the front and operational rear light, preferably red in color.
There is no pre-riding the course. Any attempt by fat bikers to ride this course outside of race day jeopardizes the future of this race. Do not ruin this unique opportunity — please stay off the Nordic ski trails.
There is no race day registration. Open to the first 400 riders: 100 maximum for the Twin Six 13K, 300 maximum for the 39K.
