Three Rivers' Signature Events

Three Rivers Park District plans events throughout the year that celebrate the changing seasons in Minnesota, welcoming everyone to experience our stunning parks, trails, facilities and offerings. These Signature Events invite individuals, families, community partners and local businesses to gather and connect to nature through recreation and education.

Take in stunning scenery while participating in a classic Twin Cities race. At Autumn Woods Classic, participants and spectators can enjoy family-friendly activities and the breathtaking fall colors of the 4,900-acre Elm Creek Park Reserve. The 2022 event features 10K, 5K and 1K races as well as Camp S'More, a race village unlike any other!

Elm Creek Park Reserve

Embrace winter by celebrating cross-country skiing at the Minnesota Nordic Ski Opener! Skiers of all abilities and ages are invited to kick off winter with free skiing, free ski rental equipment and free mini lessons. Participate in the Ski Tour with routes for the whole family, test your early season fitness in Skaði’s Chase, and check out the Nordic Market with representatives from 50 Nordic ski suppliers, resorts, retails and clubs.

Elm Creek Park Reserve

Experience tradition at one of Minnesota’s oldest trail runs! The Trail Mix course weaves though the gently rolling big woods and natural wetland landscape of Lake Rebecca Park Reserve. Distances of 6K, 12.5K, 25K and 50K offer new and experienced trail runners an opportunity to visit one of the West Metro’s premier parks and kick off the trail running season.
