Silverwood Island Shoreline Stabilization

In spring 2022, Three Rivers Park District will restore areas of eroded shoreline on the Silverwood Island. The project aims to improve the water quality of Silver Lake by stabilizing the most heavily eroded areas of the shoreline to reduce runoff. The project also will improve the shoreline fishing access and experience for anglers.

Areas that have been selected will be restored with all natural materials (limestone block, flagstone, and native plant species) found throughout Silverwood Park. The restoration process will also provide shoreline fishing opportunities to the public, as well as an accessible trail on the island.

This project is funded through the Minnesota Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund and the Legislative-Citizens Commission on Minnesota ResourcMinnesota Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund logoes.
