October 10, 2018

The Twin Lakes Boat Launch construction is complete and open to the public. The new dock scheduled to be installed during this project has been delayed until next year due to unforeseen circumstances. In the meantime, the existing dock has been re-installed for temporary use.

July 23, 2018 – Sept. 23, 2018

Three Rivers Park District plans to remove and replace the boat ramp at the Twin Lakes public boat launch in Robbinsdale, on lower Twin Lake. The project will replace the existing 11-foot-wide plank-style boat ramp with a 20-foot-wide concrete ramp that will extend into deeper water and provide a more durable, user-friendly and accessible structure for launching boats.

The project is taking place because the existing ramp has reached the end of its useful life and to provide a new dock that complies with Americans with Disabilities Act standards.

The project will require closure of the ramp for up to eight weeks. Construction will begin approximately July 23 and may last through Sept. 23. Homeowners are encouraged to put their boats on the lake as soon as possible in the spring since the boat launch will be closed and unavailable from July 23 – Sept. 23. As per a conversation with the Hennepin County Water Patrol, emergency access to the lake during construction will be from the Lake Breeze boat ramp in Brooklyn Center

The parking lot and access to Twin Lakes Regional Trail and shoreline fishing off the Twin Lakes Regional Trail will not be impacted. Shoreline fishing will not be allowed in the area of the boat ramp closure for the duration of the project.
