2019/2020 Ravine Stabilization Project
Three Rivers Park District will be stabilizing approximately 2,200 linear feet of stream channel in Baker Park Reserve located next to Baker Campground behind E-loop and C-loop. Construction will take place from November 2019 to May 2020. The campground loop will remain open for walking throughout the winter, but please be aware and careful of the construction that is taking place within the area.
This project is a water quality improvement initiative conducted as a collaborative effort with the Pioneer-Sarah Creek Watershed Management Commission, Hennepin County, City of Independence, City of Medina, Lake Independence Citizens Association and Three Rivers Park District. The stream channel erosion stabilization project will significantly reduce the sediment and phosphorus loading that is annually delivered to Lake Independence.
If you have any questions about the project, please contact Brian Vlach, Senior Manager of Water Resources for Three Rivers Park District, at 763.694.7846.
