2019/2020 Baker Park Recreation Area Restroom and Boat Rental Rehabilitation Project

Construction at the Baker Park Reserve Recreation Area will take place starting in spring 2019 and extending into spring 2020. The project will replace all six existing restroom buildings with new structures. See a map of the new buildings. The project will impact use of the Recreation Area, including the use of swim beaches, picnic areas, creative play area, fishing pier, and boat rental. The project will take place in two phases.

Due to contractor's scheduling through the relatively wet construction season, construction of the buildings will continue through the fall of 2019. Minor building work and site restoration are expected to carry over into the spring of 2020. Final project completion is expected by the summer of 2020. This project is partially funded by the Metropolitan Council Parks and Trails Legacy Fund grant program.
