A new name for Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park

Three Rivers Park District and the City of Brooklyn Park are working together to develop a joint master plan for Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park and the Brooklyn Park Environmental Nature Area. The goal of this master plan is to create a new regional park. Read a summary of the project plan to learn more about the vision for the new park.

When construction takes place (anticipated to begin in 2020), the park's name will also change to represent the new vision, goals and partnerships of the park. On November 16, 2017 the Board of Commissioners approved "Mississippi Gateway Regional Park" as the new name.
