Trail Is Closed for Southwest Light Rail Transit Construction

The Cedar Lake Regional Trail is closed from Excelsior Boulevard in Hopkins east to France Avenue in St. Louis Park. The closure is due to Southwest Light Rail Transit construction and is expected to last through fall 2021.

The SWLRT project will fully reconstruct the trail; the new trail will feature improvements including grade-separated crossings at Beltline Boulevard, Wooddale Avenue and Blake Road.

A detour is in place that uses the North Cedar Lake Regional Trail and the local bicycle network to connect users to the Midtown Greenway. To ensure public safety, it is important for trail users to stay out of the construction zone and follow posted detours.
