Three Rivers Will Hold Public Hearing About 2019 Budget

November 06, 2018

The Three Rivers Park District Board of Commissioners has scheduled a public hearing about the 2019 general fund budget and operating levy. The public hearing will be held at 5:30 PM Thursday, November 15, 2018, at the Three Rivers Park District Administrative Center, 3000 Xenium Lane N., Plymouth.

Three Rivers Park District’s operating budget is primarily funded by a property tax levy collected in suburban Hennepin County. For 2019, the proposed operating levy is $31,190,809, a decrease of $247,378 (0.79 percent) from 2018. The debt service levy will be increasing $246,015, offsetting most of the operating levy decrease. Therefore, the total tax levy for 2019 will be $41,425,521, which is a $1,363 decrease from 2018.

The proposed 2019 general fund operating budget totals $39,838,261, which is a decrease of $62,509, or 0.16 percent, from the 2018 budget.

Check back the week of November 12 to view the budget document. Copies of the budget also are available for review at the Three Rivers Park District Administrative Center.

Following the public hearing, the Three Rivers Park District Board of Commissioners will consider adopting the 2019 general fund budget at the regular Board meeting on Nov. 15. The Hennepin County Board of Commissioners is expected to review Three Rivers Park District’s general fund budget on November 27, and the Park District Board will consider approval of the final 2019 property tax levy and reaffirmation of the 2019 general fund budget on December 20.
