Three Rivers Purchases Two Properties for Future Regional Trail Corridors

September 27, 2024

Three Rivers Park District has purchased two properties in suburban Hennepin County that will be part of future regional trail corridors.

One property the Park District recently purchased is located in Dayton and will be part of the future West Mississippi River Regional Trail. The West Mississippi River Regional Trail presently links the communities of North Minneapolis, Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park, and ultimately will extend north along the Mississippi River through Champlin and Dayton.

The other property is located in Maple Grove and will be part of the future Rush Creek Regional Trail corridor connecting Elm Creek and Crow-Hassan park reserves. The Rush Creek Regional Trail presently runs from Elm Creek Park Reserve in Maple Grove east to Mississippi Gateway Regional Park in Brooklyn Park. Future plans call for extending the trail west across northern Hennepin County to Crow-Hassan Park Reserve in Rogers.
