Three Rivers begins operating Bloomington-owned regional parks and trails
January 31, 2025
The Bloomington City Council and Three Rivers Park District Board of Commissioners have approved a cooperative agreement that allows Three Rivers to begin operating regional parks and trails owned by the City of Bloomington beginning Jan. 1.
The partnership covers all City of Bloomington regional park facilities within Hyland-Bush-Anderson Lakes Park Reserve, including the Normandale Lake Bandshell; and Bloomington’s segments of the Nine Mile Creek and Nokomis-Minnesota River regional trails. Three Rivers will be responsible for operations and maintenance, natural resources management, programming, reservations and capital improvements at the facilities.
The agreement will increase efficiency with reduced costs to the public. Three Rivers and Bloomington staff have been meeting regularly to ensure a smooth operational and reservation experience for the public. Look for more details about how the agreement is being put into action in 2025 soon.
