Pavement project at Richardson Nature Center will start in late August

August 18, 2022

A pavement project will begin in late August at Richardson Nature Center in Hyland Lake Park Reserve in Bloomington. The project includes expansion of the parking lot, reconstruction of the paved trail where it travels near the parking area, resurfacing of the existing parking lot, ADA accessibility improvements, stormwater management improvements, new lighting, and restoration of the adjacent ground affected by construction.

The nature center building, restrooms, parking lot and adjacent grounds will be closed to the public from September 6 - October 1. There will be no public access to the park through the nature center entrance. In September, check out nature programming Richardson staff will be offering at the Hyland Visitor Center, including Free Family Fun Day programs each Sunday afternoon.

The park trail along East Bush Lake Road will be closed at the Richardson Nature Center parking lot during the duration of the project to keep trail users out of the active construction site.

For your safety, please obey all construction signage along the roadway and trails.
