When winter sets in, Baker Winter Trailhead becomes your launching point for outdoor fun. Whiz down the sledding hill or glide along groomed cross-country ski trails.

9.1 miles of trails

Baker offers high-quality trails for skiers of all abilities. Trails groomed daily for classic and skate skiing take you through woods and meadow. 

A Three Rivers Park District daily or annual pass is required for skiers ages 12 and older. Purchase your daily or annual pass online or by calling Guest Services at 763-559-6700.

When the snow piles up, go for a slide down Baker's groomed sledding hill! Find the hill near the clubhouse. Tubes, railed sleds, and snowboards are not allowed. Check the hill's status before you visit.

6.3 miles of trails

Opportunities abound for snowshoeing at Baker. Those looking to venture on their own can travel along the multi-use trail or go off trail at the Baker Campground.

Please note: Snowshoeing is not permitted on cross-country ski trails unless otherwise noted.

Snowshoe Rentals

Rent snowshoes online or by calling Guest Services at 763-559-6700 and hit the designated trails at the clubhouse.

Cross-Country Ski Passes

Skiers age 12 and older are required to have a daily or annual Three Rivers ski pass.

Equipment Rental

Cross-country Ski Rentals

Cross-country skis can be reserved up to seven days in advance as trail conditions allow. 

Reservations can be made online or over the phone by calling Guest Services at 763-559-6700

Due to limited equipment and indoor capacity, reserving equipment prior to arriving is highly encouraged.

Snowshoe Rentals

Snowshoes can be reserved up to seven days in advance as trail conditions allow. 

Reservations can be made online or over the phone by calling Guest Services at 763-559-6700

Equipment Rental Policies

Rental Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made at least 12 hours prior to rental time to receive 100% of the rental fee. 

No refunds will be provided less than 12 hours prior to rental time. 

Late Return Fee

Rental equipment returned after the two-hour limit will be charged a late fee of $25.

Parking

Parking is available at the Baker Chalet. See the interactive map above for more information.

Multi-use Trail

The multi-use trail allows for hiking, snowshoeing, dog walking (on leash), skijoring, dog sledding and mountain biking. 

The trail can be accessed by parking at the horse trailer lot, located south on County Road 201 (Homestead Trail). 

Other trails

The campground road is plowed for hiking and dogs on-leash. You can access the road by parking at the Baker Campground entrance. 

Snowshoeing is allowed throughout the campground.
