Three Rivers Seeks Input on Connecting Nine Mile Creek Regional Trail To Hyland Lake Park Reserve

January 12, 2018

Three Rivers Park District is working with the cities of Edina and Bloomington to identify a future regional trail route between Nine Mile Creek Regional Trail in Edina and Hyland Lake Park Reserve in Bloomington. The trail study area generally parallels the Canadian Pacific Rail line (CP Rail) in Edina. This future 10-foot-wide paved, multi-use regional trail would serve as a protected walkway and bikeway for users looking to cross I-494 at Bush Lake Road, and will provide key connections to job centers and regional parks in the area.

The CP Rail Trail Study will examine two potential route options. Option A would align with 70th Street, Cahill Road and 78th Street, then connect with East Bush Lake Road. Option B would travel through the business and retail area along Ohms Lane, 74th Street and Bush Lake Road, connecting to East Bush Lake Road. From Bush Lake Road the trail route would cross I-494 and connect to the existing trail at West 84th Street, connecting to Hyland Lake Park Reserve.

The public can view route maps and give input on their preferred route alternative by taking a brief survey.
