Three Rivers Board Approves Selection Process to Fill District 1 Commissioner Vacancy

The Three Rivers Park District Board of Commissioners has set the process for filling a vacancy in Commissioner District 1, which occurred as a result of the resignation by the Commissioner previously representing the district.

The application process to fill the vacant position will be open through Friday, March 15. Based on the application and interview process, the Board of Commissioners will appoint one person to serve on the Park District Board for a term extending from the official appointment date through December 31, 2020.

Qualified applicants must meet the requirements to serve as a Three Rivers Park District Commissioner:

  • be a resident of suburban Hennepin County
  • be a resident of District 1
  • be at least 21 years of age
  • be eligible to vote
  • not be under guardianship
  • not be legally incompetent
  • hold no other public office other than notary public
  • not have an indirect or direct interest in any contract with Three Rivers Park District

The application is available online or a copy may be obtained by calling 763.559.9000 or at the Three Rivers Park District Administrative Center, 3000 Xenium Lane N., Plymouth, MN 55441.

All application materials must be received at the Administrative Center by 4:30 PM Friday, March 15. Commissioners will select a group of candidates to interview. All application materials are considered public information and interviews will be conducted at a public Board meeting.

Commissioner District 1 includes the following cities: Corcoran, Greenfield, Hanover, Independence, Long Lake, Loretto, Maple Plain, Medicine Lake, Medina, Minnetrista, Minnetonka Beach, Mound, New Hope, Orono — Precincts 1, 3 & 4, Plymouth, Rockford, Rogers, Spring Park, St. Bonifacius, and Wayzata.
