Nine Mile Creek Regional Trail Grand Opening is June 3

The public is invited to help celebrate completion of the Nine Mile Creek Regional Trail, the new 15-mile trail that travels through Hopkins, Minnetonka, Edina and Richfield. The trail features more than two miles of boardwalks, providing exceptional views of wetlands and natural areas surrounding Nine Mile Creek.

Details about the grand opening celebration are as follows:

The family-friendly event will include a brief ribbon cutting ceremony and photo at 10:00 AM. Following the ceremony, people are invited to bike or walk along the trail, try Three Rivers’ climbing wall, and play portable disc golf and yard games. Grilled hamburgers and hotdogs will be served beginning at 11:00 AM. Don’t have a bike to ride the trail? Don’t worry — you can borrow one from Three Rivers’ bike fleet.

The Nine Mile Creek Regional Trail project was funded in part with Parks and Trails funding from Minnesota’s Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment. Project partners included the cities of Edina, Richfield, Hopkins and Minnetonka; the Edina School District; the Metropolitan Council; Hennepin County; and the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
