Cedar Lake Farm Regional Park

Located on the south shore of Cedar Lake near New Prague, Cedar Lake Farm Regional Park is a picturesque site for picnicking, swimming, and shore fishing. This site also offers a spectacular setting for an outdoor wedding and reception, corporate retreat, and educational and recreational activities.

Bike Trail

Boat Launch

Boats can be launched from the public launch on Cedar Lake. Carry-in access is available in the park.

Don't have your own boat? Kayaks, canoes and paddleboards are available for rent Fridays-Sundays and holidays from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day. Rental hours are 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.



Campfire and tent

Cedarview Group Campsite is available for tent camping. Water, grill, fire pit, reservation shelter are nearby. There is an additional fee for electricity access. Boats can be launched from the public launch on Cedar Lake and docked near the group camp. Reservations can be made ahead of time.

Dog Trails - On Leash

Dogs on a six-foot, non-retractable leash are allowed on paved and turf trails except where posted otherwise. They are not permitted in beach areas. Owners must pick-up after their dogs.

Fishing / Fishing Pier

Dip a line in Cedar Lake from the accessible fishing pier or from a boat, canoe or kayak. Anglers must have a valid Minnesota fishing license.

Geocaching is a family-friendly, high-tech treasure hunt that combines respect for the environment with a sense of adventure. This activity involves placing or looking for a cache using global positioning system (GPS) equipment.

The one-mile paved trail is available for hiking year-round and provides access throughout the park for a stroll.

Boats can be launched from the public launch on Cedar Lake or portaged through the park to shore. Don't have a boat? Rent a canoe, kayak, stand-up paddleboard or paddleboat at the park.

Rental Hours & Process

Hours: Noon-7 PM, Friday, Saturday & Sunday through Labor Day

New in 2020: All boat rentals must be reserved online. Boats can be reserved in two-hour time blocks up to seven days in advance. Same-day reservations are available. See rental rates.

With a canopy of mature oak trees and vistas of the lake, Cedar Lake Farm is a perfect place to dine al fresco. The large reservation picnic shelter is the perfect venue for a unique family reunion, graduation party, outdoor wedding/reception or company picnic.

Explore the edges of Cedar Lake on 2.7 miles of snowshoeing trails.

Avoid the crowds and cool off during the hot days in Cedar Lake. Enjoy the other nearby amenities of the park and the shade of the mature oak trees. The water is regularly monitored to ensure safe water quality. The beach is unguarded and free. Hours are 9:00 AM–sunset.
