Marge Beard, a 25-year resident of Plymouth, represents District 1 on the Three Rivers Park District Board of Commissioners. She credits her previous public service on the Plymouth City Council with helping her make informed decisions for our parks. Marge founded and led an all-volunteer nonprofit where the goal was to move people out of poverty through education. Over $100,000 in scholarships were awarded to academically advanced students with demonstrated financial need studying STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) at a Minnesota public college or university.
She also served on the board of directors of People Responding in Social Ministry (PRISM), where her focus was providing for the basic needs of our community including food support, transportation and clothing.

Marge has more than 20 years of experience leading large, global information technology (IT) projects and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Favorite Place in Three Rivers Park District

Eagle Lake Regional Park in Plymouth/Maple Grove is where Marge was introduced to a popular lifetime sport she now greatly enjoys. Never having swung a golf club before, she signed up for group lessons at Eagle Lake. Marge found the golfing community at Eagle Lake very welcoming, and her instructor very patient. He focused on building confidence, teaching etiquette and tradition, as well as improving her golf swing. In a short time, Marge was able to enjoy the challenge of the game. She is thankful that lessons were available at Eagle Lake. She now enjoys this life-long skill and plays in leagues on a regular basis.

Marge’s term expires December 31, 2026.
