Hyland Alpine Junior Race Team
This introductory ski-racing program for skiers aged 6-18 is coached by the Hyland Snowsports Academy and includes races with other local teams.
Hyland Alpine Parent’s Team
Parents get to join in the fun while kids are in the Junior Race Program. We will focus on skiing improvement and race instruction, culminating in a year-end race with your young racer! Practices are at the same time as your young racer and only on practice days at Hyland.
Hyland X Team
This introductory snowboard and twin-tip competition program includes events with other local teams. Improve your skills in free riding, big air and gates.
Team Racing
A special program designed for those desiring additional "gate time" as they prepare for the upcoming race season. The Hyland SnowSports Academy will set gates and provide coaching if needed. This program is available for individuals, groups or race teams. Days and times vary depending on availability. For scheduling call 763.694.7800. The cost is $40 per hour with a three-hour minimum.
The Ski Challenge
The Ski Challenge is a series of recreational ski racing leagues held at Minnesota ski areas, including Hyland. Skiers race against the clock in a giant slalom course to set individual handicaps (based on age, gender and time) and score team points.
The Hyland league accepts skiers aged four and older. Teams can consist of all adults, all kids or mixed ages. Mixed teams cannot qualify for the kids' division at State Championships; however, the team will have an option to qualify in another division. This league allows a maximum of twelve teams. Teams must have six to ten racers. For more information call 952.894.9220.
Minneapolis Ski Club – Ski Jumping
The Minneapolis Ski Club has been developing Nordic ski jumpers ranging from beginners to Olympians for nearly a century. Learn how to ski jump properly and you’ll experience the thrills of flying through the air. Call 952.484.8956 for more information.
Nybora Team Freestyle
Join the Midwest’s No. 1 USSA-affiliated freestyle skiing program and be a part of the new freestyle skiing revolution. Nybora Team skiers receive instruction in slope-style, big air, rails, moguls, half-pipe, and aerials, and compete regionally and nationally in USSA events. Cal 612.672.0282 for more information.
Team Gilboa
Hyland is home to one of the best USSA racing programs in the Midwest and one of the top programs in the nation! On Team Gilboa, racers aged 6-18 are coached by top local coaches and compete regionally and nationally in USSA races. Call 612.850.1719 for more information.
The G Team Snowboard Program
The USASA sanctioned G Team is the Upper-Midwest’s premier snowboard team. It provides the opportunity for motivated riders of all abilities—who have already acquired basic snowboard skills—to train under the direction of experienced, professional coaches in a structured team environment. The G Team provides skill development in all disciplines of snowboarding including freestyle (jumps, rails, boxes), freeriding and alpine.
