Looking for a special experience for your group? The professional naturalists at the Coon Rapids Dam Visitor Center offer a wide variety of outdoor and environmental educational experiences for schools, scouts, community groups, seniors and home school groups. Choose from popular program topics such as: birds, insects, amphibians and reptiles, water quality, and the Mississippi River. We can also customize a program to meet the interests of your group. Programs are generally two hours in length and cost depends on the number of participants.
We offer standards-based school programs for grades pre-K through 12. These interactive programs frequently incorporate math, language or art activities.
Three Rivers Park District is committed to making our programs accessible. Financial assistance for program fees and buses, sign language interpreters, and a wide variety of assisted technology are available.
We can bring a program to you!
The Interpretive Center’s naturalists also provide programs at schools, libraries, and for community or corporate events. Popular topics include Beaver Adaptations, live reptiles and amphibians, traditional games, and insects.
