Trail Ambassadors Needed
March 29, 2012

Volunteers play an important role in assisting and educating trail users so all have a positive, safe experience. This education effort involves helping users find their way, promoting “Share the Trail” etiquette, and providing Regional Trail/Three Rivers Park District information. Lake Independence Regional Trail

To help with this effort, consider one of these opportunities:

  • Program Assistants – Regional Trails:
Greet trail users, provide trail information, promote safety and reward good trail behavior as scheduled at trail facilities, community events and bike rodeos. Attend one of our Bike-along trainings this May. For details contact Katie Andersen, 763.694.7723, KAndersen@threeriversparkdistrict.org; or Michael Gottschalk, 763.694.2052, MGottschalk@threeriversparkdistrict.org.
  • Park Patrollers:
The Park Patrol has several units. In addition to Regional Trails, Park Patrollers assist on park trails and events on foot, bike, skates, snowshoes, cross-country skis, and horseback. First year training is about 20 hours. Annual refreshers are required. Training is over for spring and will be offered again next fall.
