Lakes May Have Unsafe Ice Conditions

Three Rivers Park District will be operating aeration systems in four lakes beginning the week of January 11, 2009. This will result in unsafe ice conditions on portions of the following lakes for the duration of the winter: Cleary Lake in Cleary Lake Regional Park, Prior Lake; Lake Rebecca in Lake Rebecca Park Reserve, Rockford; Hyland Lake in Hyland Lake Park Reserve, Bloomington; and Murphy Lake in Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve, Savage.

Local residents and park guests are asked to use caution when ice fishing, skating, or recreating on these lakes and should be aware that these lakes will have areas of open water and thin ice in proximity to the aeration systems.
