Lake Independence Regional Trail Updates

The public's patience is appreciated during construction of improvements to the regional trail system. The new Lake Independence Regional Trail segment through downtown Loretto included in this project has been paved; however, construction continues on the project, so trail users are reminded to exercise caution and to be respectful of contractors working along the trails.   

This is part of a multi-phase project and partnership with Hennepin County. When complete, the Lake Independence Regional Trail will connect Crow-Hassan Park Reserve, Baker Park Reserve, and the Luce Line State Trail. The 10’-wide paved regional trail will support walking, jogging, hiking, dog-walking, inline skating and bicycling.
