District 2 representative Marilynn Corcoran, a resident of Dayton, was first elected to the Three Rivers Park District Board of Commissioners in 1993.

Marilynn’s public service work includes serving as a council member and mayor of Dayton. She is now retired from her career as the administrative director of the recycling/solid waste programs for the cities of Brooklyn Park, Brooklyn Center, Crystal, and New Hope.

She also has served as a member of the Metropolitan Council Advisory Board; board member for the League of Minnesota Cities; president of the Home School Association for Dayton Elementary School; on the Parent Advisory Council for Jackson Junior High School and Anoka High School; and on the Advisory Committee to Community Education Anoka-Hennepin.

A proud member of the Three Rivers Park District board, Marilynn believes the Park District “offers the best trails around. The trails provide park users with many options for recreation, and they safely take people to the Park District’s wonderful facilities and communities.”

My favorite place at Three Rivers

"Elm Creek Park Reserve — it provided a learning experience for our three children as they grew up in Dayton and now has been a joyful learning experience for my two grandchildren through the District’s partnership with Riverview Elementary. The park has many things to offer throughout the year with recreation opportunities, nature and wildlife, and snow tubing and skiing.”

Marilynn's term expires December 31, 2012.
